The latest spot in Honda's "The Power of Dreams" campaign, is packing a punch. They've condensed over 60 years of innovation into a two minute interactive video, using WIREWAX to allow viewers to dive deep into each award winning Honda product along the way.
Agency of choice, RPA, called on Oscar nominated animator PES to unfold the history of Honda (pun fully intended) from its beginning when, founder, Soichiro Honda powered his wife's bicycle with a radio generator, all the way through race-winning motorcycles, boat motors, commercial automobiles, race cars, and so much more.
WIREWAX tags were added to each iconic machine so viewers can discover the stories behind each of Honda's amazing innovations. When clicked, a paper-folding animation filled the screen - perfectly matching the video's original creative - with a brief bio and link to read the full article.
"The goal is for the marketing itself to become a demonstration of Honda thinking and all the people that touch our wide range of products along the way," said Tom Peyton, assistant vice president of marketing for American Honda Motor Co. "This commercial stands for the courage and conviction to imagine and make dreams a reality and speaks to Honda's innovative nature and respect for personal achievement and contributions."
Not only are Honda further cementing themselves as an innovation-leading brand, but they are learning a massive amount of new information about their audience's interests. With such a richly diverse history, Honda can measure specific aspects of their brand engagement through interactive video.
