4. World Premiere: Satan & Adam

Tribeca Film Fest 2018

Various Times & Locations

Music is at our core at WIREWAX and that’s why we can’t wait for this celebration of blues, the transformative power of music, and friendships that develop when artists collaborate. One day in 1986, Adam Gussow, a white, Ivy League-educated harmonica player, found himself nursing a broken heart and walking down the street in Harlem, a block from the Apollo Theater. There, he came upon a one-man blues band: Sterling Magee. Better known as Satan, Magee was a local legend with heavy blues guitar riffs and makeshift percussion instruments. Their partnership would transcend the racial tensions of a segregated city and the anxiety of a neighbourhood that was hyper-aware of the perils of gentrification.

5. Tribeca Talks: Storytellers - Alec Baldwin with Spike Lee

Alec Baldwin Spike Lee

Tuesday, 4/24 - 8:45pm - Tribeca Festival Hub

Hilarious? Check. Adrenaline-boosting? Check. Award-winners? Check. There’s nothing quite like a story from Alec Baldwin or Spike Lee, so when we found out they’re partnering together for the festival, we made sure to clear the schedule. Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee, two of the industry’s most prolific storytellers, will sit down and discuss in great detail their passionate and reverential relationship to film: their favorite movies of all time, the films that have influenced them as creators, and the power of storytelling. SImply not to be missed.
