Our small but growing company needs a reliable, organised and talented Product Designer to lead the creatives for the product suite and oversee the creatives for commercial projects. You’ll be working closely with the executive team on driving and influencing the product vision. The will involve a combination of Wireframing, UI Design, UX research, Illustration and Product design.

The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, a desire to work as efficiently as possible, and excellent communication skills. We’re looking for someone who can operate effectively with little or no supervision and who can manage multiple tasks at once without becoming overwhelmed.

Skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in relevant field

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in relevant field

  • User Centred Design experience

  • Experience in product designs for digital products essential, software as a service of benefit

  • Experience with user interfaces for websites, banners, animations, rich media assets

  • Experience with video players and digital asset management solutions of benefit

  • Experience with analytics and metadata solutions of benefit

  • Experience with desktop and mobile experiences essential, mobile applications of benefit

  • Plan and conduct research studies

  • Interactive prototyping experience of benefit

  • Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and clients to ensure that high quality end-user designs meet end user requirements

  • Excellent written communication skills coupled with an eye for detail

  • Design and spatial skills to gauge the usability of the website or application

  • An aptitude for using a logical, step-by-step approach to ensure designs are user friendly and simple for end users

  • A high level of concentration and resilience to stay focused on a project to the end and meet client deadlines

  • An open, flexible and adaptable mind-set to cope with a rapidly changing set of tasks in an area of emerging, new technologies

  • The ability to relate well to other professionals and work in a specialist team

  • A willingness to keep up to date with software applications and new techniques in a rapidly changing profession

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the user design of our Wirewax’s product suite. Including amongst others, Video management system, Video Editor, Video Player, Metadata and Analytics

  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences

  • Facilitate product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products

  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

  • Document user stories in preparation for implementation

  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions

  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features

  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs

  • Actively QA new features and iterate designs and experiences accordingly with i.e. A/B testing approaches.

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas
